red curry noodle soup

2 tablespoons of sesame oil

4 garlic cloves, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (i added 5 drops of ginger doterra essential oil since i didn't have fresh)

3 tablespoons thai red curry paste...the kind i used was pretty spicy so tread lightly :)

1 package of firm tofu, pressed and cut into large rectangles

4 cups vegetable broth

1 cup water

1 can of coconut milk

1 pack of whole wheat capallini pasta noodles

1 lime, juiced

cilantro to garnish

prep the tofu by pressing a large portion of the water out of it, cut in large rectangles then set aside. in a large pot over medium heat, add the oil, garlic, ginger, and thai red curry paste. fry for 5 minutes, until fragrant. add the tofu pieces to brown them and cook for another 15-20 minutes or so to brown a couple sides, if the bits are starting to burn then add a bit more sesame oil. once the tofu is browned on a couple sides then add the veggie broth and water. bring to a boil and add the noodles and continue til noodles are cooked, add the coconut milk, lime juice, and garnishes and serve. because i like to cook with my doterra essential oils i added several drops each of ginger, lemongrass, and cilantro, salt and a little stevia to the soup to finish it off. we really loved this!!!

october...

I can't shake my love for opals nor do I really want too. There would be no good reason to. Just look at them, AND, well, I am a Libra. They have a whole inner world and galaxy all to themselves. This exquisite specimen is a prime example. LOVE!!! You can find this one here.

assistant...

this could be her favorite part of mama's job besides studio saturdays.

cottonwood art fest 2015

last weekend I participated in the cottonwood art fest. you were so good to me, cottonwood. it was a rough go getting there (rush hour at 3pm on a friday in atx...bad departure time :/) but all in all  around a growing experience. it was my first time to be away from Boden overnight. whewwww!!!! it was so hard to leave but was much needed and so good for my heart and soul. i was the most comfortable in my booth of all the times i've shown my work. my good friends mark and carol were my booth neighbors and we roomed together. i really could not have had a better time. i hope to be back in the spring and fall. i met this incredible glass artists, carol martin, who makes these luscious and wonderful cast glass bracelets.

this black and white one was my favorite but it was just a smidge too small and the green rectangle one was a little too big :/ she said she could make me an in between size :) SOOO it's on the list!!!

under construction...

Please forgive the mess. We are still getting things back in order around here for the new website. Please email us for further details. Thank you.

a special customer and friend wanted her ammonite ring she got on some of her traveling adventures reused and put in a new ring and this is what I made for her. I kinda loved it. I love the atypical shape. Super fun and earthy and more along the lines of how my work was when I first started making jewelry. I didn't start making things in bright colors until I quit my then full time desk job to start being a jeweler full time. coincidence, not a chance. ;)

bench status...

Current picture of my bench. it gets messy and piled up when I am preparing for shows and doing lots of orders. Occasionally I have to purge and clear a spot but I can surprisingly find things pretty easy this way. As much as I like a super clean and open work bench it always defaults to this!!!
