chris and i have a similar, yet different, version of this same concept in a piece of artwork done by photographer, ben aqua and artist sterling allen....i'll upload the photo and drawing when i photograph them.........stayed tuned.
i have always been crazy obsessed with anything miniature. so i was so excited when chris ordered this book, "little people in the city" for me. slinkacho is a london based artist who paints little people and leaves them in london in public places to possibly be discovered. i would so love to walk upon one of his "mini art installations". this book is a collection of all his little people work. this is sure to make you smile and maybe make you watch where you're walking....
i am in love with you alma. alma is the sculpture above created by margaret meehan. "clara" is the drawing below. both of these pieces are some of my favorite works i have ever seen, ever. the fuzzy line between beautifully innocent and curiously unusual is walked steadily upon. margaret's work provokes a similar question that i feel is consistent in my work. what is beautiful?
speaking of beautiful, margaret is such an amazing, incredibly generous and talented women. i am a happy girl for knowing her.

....i didn't get the vegan option since i already decided i was going to be bad and i couldn't pass up the carrot cream cheese cupcake. i already had pizza for lunch so i just made a "bad" day of it. then i had to come home and sleep it off. that's the way it works, right! eat crap, feel crap!!! but....oh, the sweet joy along the way was pretty damn good. that's what sweatin' bullets at the 12 o'clock tomorrow yoga is for.
check out this great bag made by olivebrown on etsy. i love the canvas "plastic" bag....to clever. the other day when i went to the grocery i crammed so many things in my reusable tote bag that it almost had a blow out. i try to avoid getting a bag at all costs no matter where i go. we can help the environment one bag "no thanks" at a time.

the rings i have been dreaming about in my sleep........molly proctor makes fabulous, completely handmade vintage inspired resin rings. BIG YEAH!!!! i have been looking for solid colored rings with a clean and simple design made out of plastic for far to long....with no real success. most of the plastic and resin rings have a design of flowers or stripes which have never appealed to me. BUT, molly's rings are perfect in every way, the shapes, the colors, the whole kit and kaboodle :O)
this piece "gomer" was made by an old art fair friend of mine, betsy youngquist. she makes these amazing and incredibly ornate sculptures made of glass beads, vintage glass and refused vintage doll parts from old doll factories. we met my first year participating in the laumeier sculpture park art festival in missouri in 2001. can gomer come out and play, a.k.a. come live with me :O)
