**the metal for these rings is oxidized sterling silver. the oxidation will wear with time, become burnished over time, and the oxidation will lessen. this is the evolution of oxidized sterling. it will take on it's own natural surface as time goes by and the rings are worn regularly. this can be faster process for some people depending on body chemistry. if you do not enjoy the process of how oxidized sterling wears over time please do not order this ring in oxidized sterling**
