this “matchstick pencil” could find a nice home in my “tiny collectibles” drawer in my studio.  the pencil is 131 years old and was a tiffany and co. souvineer. i love that it is actually the size of a matchstick and it really functions, AND it’s still in great condition AND despite being so small it still exists. this is good!

in search of the perfect replacement hat for my “lost” black hat with white polka dots…i must show a new favorite and an old favorite.  the pink one is by a organization called trillium artisans out of portland. they have all sorts of lovely handmade things…i love the lawn chair pouches. the second picture is of my all time fave black faux fur hat by chia guillory of chia hats here in austin.

the last image is of my favorite summer hat that i wore all the time.  recently, i took it to california with me and i think it fell out of my bag on the plane in san francisco.  it’s made by the company called san diego hat company.  if you happen to find one….please, please let me know.  yes, there will be something in it for you :O) heehee!!

i have spent an embarrassing amount of time looking everywhere, both virtually and physically, that i can think of with no such luck. maybe one day i will get lucky at a garage sale or a thrift store and find it….not my original one but a replacement.  i had a dream that i found it at the yoga studio on a heaping pile of lost and found.  big fat goose egg for that one too…….at least when i tell people that would care that i lost my hat, “i lost my hat in san francisco i get a chuckle out of it because i feel like i am singing a song…hat, heart, it’s all the same.

chris and i watched this amazing and beautiful movie the other night called fur:an imaginary portrait of diane arbus. it’s an unusual charming story depicting diane arbus (nicole kidman) falling in love lionel sweeney, a man that has hypertrichosis…or werewolf syndrome. lionel is played by robert downey jr.

better than starbs…

 gingercherry.jpg

speaking of vices……

i go in waves of drinking way to many “starbs” (starbucks mocha) while i am working to much in the studio, sleeping less than i should, and not catching enough yoga (aka-now)….so, this post is a reminder to myself to make this as my hardcore caffeine alternative, then, i wouldn’t need to race out to the nearest starbs just before my head spanks the loose stones and sharp metal scraps on my jewelry bench.  and funny enough this fruity concoction warms your body to the core….sound crazy!  give it a try. it’s made with a bag of pureed frozen sweet cherries with a really large piece of ginger. i use a piece of ginger that is about 1″ by 4″ or 5″, remove skin and chop into chunks and put in a high power blender.  WARNING: this will knock your socks of!!! it will be very very very spicy in a ginger-sort-of-way. SO, IF YOU DON’T LIKE SPICY USE JUST A SMALL PIECE OF GINGER.  i’m not looking to hurt anyone here, but i honestly love this stuff.  i can’t wait to make some this weekend….yummy!!

maybe i need a good reward system like jen’s (see previous listing) for giving up starbs.
