it’s pretty close to my favorite day/s of the year. today we will be setting up for the handmade austin women show. for the life of me i couldn’t sleep last nite…i am so excited. this is my all time favorite show of the year. honestly, i feel sentimental about all the shows i do, for one reason or another but this show i am completly invested in (both emotionally and spiritually)and i love it. i love that for 3 days straight i am submerged in an environment with amazing & talented women all focusing and sharing a common passion and knowledge for what we love: making.

my friend melanie and i have been laughing about using the term hawesome for haw (handmade austin women)!!! haha!! melanie is one of the other main coordinators for the show….hawesome….cheesy, yes!! but we just can’t help it. with all the long hours of planning the event i think we have the right to coin “hawesome” in the midst of our deliriousness. planning a show (even at this small scale) is an immeasarable amount of work and at times feels like a full time job. having said that, i love being part of this show in every facet. i love everything about it from the artists, to the details, to nerdin out on my computer organizing the logistics. AND, after all the planning it’s about that time to just enjoy.

well, the count down is on for my departure to st. louis for the clayton art fair. i am heading north one week from today. i am debating on finishing a couple more pieces….but first i will finish up the pieces that are in their last stages. when is enough, enough?? is the question? i am pricing, sanding, waxing, organizing, packing and freaking out a little….that it’s almost here. i’m excited and exhausted all at the same time. i’ll be there with bells on!! i just posted this piece and a handful of other new pieces that i will have at the show in my shop today. have a look.see.

here is the poster i am working for the upcoming handmade austin women show. at this point, the poster is still a little rough around the edges but it’s getting there. a few more hours and i should be ready to head to the printers. this has been a fun project and i have learned quite a few new tricks in photoshop along the way :O) up next, the bulk mail label printing…
