i saw one of these brussels griffon pups at an airport about a month or two ago. he was being taxied around in a wheelie duffle bag and lovin’ every minute of it. the fuzzie bud was standing on his back legs with his head out the zipper and his ears and tongue flapping in the wind. it totally made my day….so did this little guy. yeah, scrunchie face.

YEAH!!! ann arbor was great and i so enjoyed talking with curious patrons, customers and all my art fair buddies as well as making some new ones. thanks to all of you who dropped by for a visit. i hope to see you all next year
i have a few pics from the show……

my booth

my friend ben playing “99 red balloons” on his brand new (to him) vintage accordion….it made me think of my mom-in-law, pat. she used to play one :O)

some sweet little girl came in my booth and talked with me about visiting her aunt in new york and helping her make jewelry. she had on these great little ice cream shoes and i couldn’t resist snapping this photo (with her mom’s permission). she was carrying around a little cup of pretzels and just talking away. she was too sweet.
on another note, a woman came in my booth later that day with a schnazzy pair of black sandals on and a fabulous pedicure in a color scheme that i used growing up. each toenail was painted a different color….all pale pale opaque easter egg colors: pink, yellow, green, blue, purple. i was so excited when i saw them that i jumped up with my camera and ask the woman if i could snap a photo of them. i could tell by the look on her face that she was afraid of my request and she high-tailed it out of my booth saying “no thank you”. i really didn’t mean any harm. i cracked up!!!

my friend charity’s booth with some of her ceramic pieces

one of my customer’s dog’s, tiny

some street performance by a mime

my favorite sockie-doodles

a dog i remember seeing last year and oh so loving that sweet face

my friend ben couldn’t resist using the pillows i just made for some eyes above my burn…..
oh, it’s so good to be home…i’ve had a long nap (since i got up at 4:00am to catch my plane home), drank some kombucha, ate an enormous salad with my fave balsamic vinegar dressing and am feeling the comforts of home. it was such an incredible adventure in ann arbor, but i am a happy girl to be back home. i’ll feel even better tomorrow after i go to yoga. i’ve had a week off and my body (AND MIND) are missing it :O)
hope you had a great weekend too.

these are the sweetest creatures ever….(besides beanie) i fell in love with these fuzzy wuzzies when i drove thru some alpaca farms driving around ohio making my way to my late uncle morris’ house in between a couple shows. have i mentioned that i have a really bad sense of direction, sense of smell, yes….sense of direction…negative. i stayed for a few days and was so relieved to see family. i got lost so many times on that road trip so familiarity and comfort was just what the doctor ordered. we had some good eats and relaxation before i had to head off for the next adventure.
the picture above is of one of maple’s alpacas of the north star alpacas in ithica, michigan. i love that maple will send a picture of the alpaca that created the fur used to make a particular hat. yippity :O) i may have to buy one just to get a picture of one of those sweet little guy. oh my, i think he would fit in just fine in my back yard. neaner, beanie, bobie, booberry……okay his real name is brinkley (my baby…..dog, that is) would like him. beanie looks somewhat like a goat anyway when we cut his hair so they would be a perfect match. we’re looking to expand the family anyway. hehehehehee!!

here is our super cute stuffie toy………we got this on our way up to st. louis over the summer. we stopped off at my favorite thrift store off highway 30 in arkansas. chris typically takes a power nap and i run in to see what the local goodwill has to offer. i found this great little stuffie for brinkley since i forgot to bring him some toys. brinkley is our baby…..puppy. well, he’s not a puppy anymore, but he’s still my baby-guy. the funny thing about this toy is it pretty much looks like him. you can’t always see his eyes and it is pretty much an off white/tan color by now which is the same color of brinkley’s fur. we call him neaner, beanie, bubba, zanzle, bean-bean, boobbie, bobbie-o-shanskie, that’s just to name a few. chris and i have this “thing” where we have nicknames for each other and brinkley that always evolve and change as the days pass. i know, don’t ask!! anywho, this stuffie made me think of our last trip to st. louis since we are heading there tomorrow.
we are going to see my family, my show at the xen gallery, and apparently some ice and snow. i hope it’s not to bad i am hoping to go to some of my favorite places while i’m there. first up, FOOD, india rasio in the central west end (my absolute favorite indian restaurant in st. louis) followed up by mezzanine to see anna and her fabulous collection of clothing, body care goodies, and assortment of handmade jewelry. we have plans to see the “body worlds” show at the science center, then hopefully hit a few thrift stores, the contemporary art museum, a belated christmas celebration with the family and special time with both my grandma’s. hope we can squeeze it all in.
st. louis OR bust!!
